Blog 10

In the story  So Do You Want To Be A Jedi? by Adam Giowitz is describes how Luke fights against
the empire. Luke Skywalker wants to be a Jedi. But Darth Vader is ruling the galaxy. Luke tries to
fight. Doesn’t work at all. Then Luke meets Yoda and Yoda trains Luke to be a Jedi. Working pretty
well. Luke is doing really good and he is becoming a good student. Yoda is proud of the progress.
In the end Luke is a Jedi.


Blog 9

In the story Point Guard by Mike Lupica it describes how Jack is on a basketball team with his
friends. Jack wants to be a professional basketball player. But he is just a kid and he hasn’t
played basketball for a long time. So he is practicing and playing more. Somewhat working.
He is being coached. By a great coach too.Then he is playing with his friends in basketball.
Also, his friends are really nice. That worked really well. In the end Jack is becoming better at
basketball.

In the story Kid Owner by Tim Green it describes how a 12 year old boy owns the Dallas
Cowboys. Ryan wants to win because he made a bet with his half-brother that if Dillon won
he owned the Cowboys and if ryan won he owned the Cowboys. But, the game against the
team that hasn’t lost in 5 years has Dillon [Ryans Half-brother].Ryan tries to talk about who
gets the team. Didn’t work. Now he is trying to make a bet to see who gets the team. In the
end Ryan won the bet and owns the Cowboys.

Blog 7

In the story Kid Owner by Tim Green it describes how a 12 year old boy owns the Dallas Cowboys.
Ryan wants to play football. But his mom doesn’t let him. Ryan is really, really desperate that he
can go to tryouts.. Later Ryan goes to his dad’s funeral. Ryan doesn’t know anything about his
dad because he never met him. At his funeral the lawyer said this in the letter Ryan’s dad wrote,
“‘To my son, Ryan Zinna,’ he said, repeating my name in context of being the dead man’s son,
so there should be no mistake, ‘I leave my entirety my ownership interest . . .’ the lawyer looked
up at me again, swallowed, and blinked in disbelief. ‘The Dallas Cowboys.’” Ryan's mom was
upset because she doesn’t like football because it is violent. In the end Ryan owns the Dallas
Cowboys.

Blog one- pg.156

In the story More Than Rivals by Ken Abraham it describes how two thirteen year old boys are
friends. First Eddie who is white lives in Gallatin, Tennessee. Bill who is black also lives in  
Gallatin, Tennessee meets Eddie. There is a segregation law so that black and whites have
to separate. Both kids are really good at basketball. Later Bill moves farther into the “black”
area. Eddie is devastated that his friend is moving. After that Eddie plays for his high school
basketball team. So does Bill but on another team because of the law. Finally both high school
teams play against each other.

In the story Big Nate:Say Goodbye To Dork City by Lincoln Peirce it describes how Nate hangs
out with Marcus and his friends. Nate doesn’t want to get bullied. But the problem is that he gets
bullied a lot and it never stops. Nate tries to join the people who bullies him. Didn’t work. Then he
tried to stand up for himself. Also didn’t work. In the end Nate still got bullied.

























Blog 4

In the story Among The Hidden  by Margaret Peterson Haddix it describes how a thirteen year
old boy is illegal. Luke wanted to be a regular child. But the government doesn’t like third children.
So he tries to hide so that nobody would turn him into the government and kill him. Then he tried
to use a fake identity to try and trick the government. At the end Luke has to go leave the farm to
live in another one.

Book #3

In the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen he describes how a 13 year old boy survives a plane
crash. Brian wants to see his dad in Canada for the summer. When he was going to Canada
his plane crashed in the Canadian forest. The next couple of days he finds shelter and food.
Later he makes a fire and he guards it with his life. He shot a bird, found turtle eggs, and
berries for his food. His shelter is a overhang. Brian is really successful later on. There was a
tornado so now he has to rebuild his shelter.  Then Brian has this image in his head about a
survival pack inside the plane. So, Brian builds a raft and floats to the plane. But it takes him
a little bit because he dropped his hatchet in the lake and that helps him rip the plane to get
the pack. Later when Brian opens the pack there was pots, pans, food, forks, knives, and a
transmitter that tracks planes that take off. So, Brian opens it like a flip phone and it called
another plane. The other plane crashes and a man steps out and says, “Damn.You’re him,
aren’t you? You’re that kid.” and, “I heard you’re emergency transmitter-then I saw the plane
when I came over.” That happened because Brian turned it on. Then Brain asked the man,
“Do you want something to eat?”

Walk Two Moons
The book Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech states that a 13 year old girl
wants to search for her mother. Sal wants her mother. But her mother got
angry and moved away to Idaho. Her grandmother and her grandpa drove
all the way from Bybanks,Kentucky to Idaho. Sal drove 100 miles to Lewiston,
Idaho to see her mother. Sal has realized that she left and it wasn’t her fault.
